A year after getting shot in the head by the Taliban while riding a school bus to her home in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, 16-year-old Malala Yousafzai visited The Daily Show to chat about her activism and her new book, I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban. The youngest person ever to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, Yousafzai spoke with astonishing eloquence about growing up under Taliban rule, women’s rights, and her belief in fighting terror with education. “I don’t know where you come from, but I am very glad you’re here,” Jon Stewart said as he brought the interview to a close.
