On this week's Spoilers, Kevin Smith interviewed his favourite writer of all time: comic book icon Grant Morrison, who has spent his career redefining such classic characters as Batman, Superman, Animal Man, and the X-Men. Morrison's current project will offer a retelling of Wonder Woman's origin story—and as Morrison explained during his interview, the character's original author has a pretty unusual backstory himself. Wonder Woman: The Trial of Diana Prince is being illustrated by Canadian artist Yanick Paquette, and is set for release sometime in 2014.

In the clip below, Morrison also offers insight into how he first got into comics, which he says provided an escape from the stresses of the Cold War while growing up in Scotland. He also tells the story of the time he tried to reach enlightenment in Kathmandu but just found a bunch of masturbating monkeys instead.
