The Bad Dog Theatre Company has been making Toronto laugh by making things up for over 30 years, and this week the collective of improv all-stars opens a brand new space at 875 Bloor St. West, down the street from Comedy Bar, their former home.

Formerly known as Theatresports Toronto, the company has gone through several changes over the years but now has a permanent home base to operate out of led by current artistic director, Julie Dumais. After leaving their only other permanent space on Danforth Avenue a few years back, the company set up shop in Comedy Bar and since then has produced some of the city’s best improv shows, recruiting the country’s top improvisers to form their Repertory Players. Their training centre has also been very active in creating the next generation of improv stars and the new space should open up even more opportunity for eager young comedians to get stage time and learn the ins and outs of the craft.

Check out Bad Dog’s Launch Week schedule that includes some amazing shows, special guests and public workshops. It should be an exciting start to new era in improv in Toronto, so break out the schedule, go see some shows and get involved!
