Springtime has been a pretty big letdown thus far with low temperatures, gloom, rain, subpar baseball from Canada’s only team, and no sign of the year’s first asparagus. But don’t start planning on moving to the middle of the ocean quite yet because today Just For Laughs has brought some much needed sunshine to our lives with an announcement containing the first slate of performers coming to Montreal this summer.

As usual, the fest will transform the city into a comedy Valhalla from July 12 - 31 complete with galas, club shows, TV tapings, panels, podcast recordings, and other special stuff that will give you a severe case of FOMO. The highlight of this initial announcement has got to be an insane co-headling bill featuring Jerry Seinfeld and France’s biggest comedian, Gad Elmaleh on July 26 at 8:00pm at the Bell Centre. This will be Elmaleh’s second English appearance at the festival following last year’s sold out run, while Seinfeld will be back for the first time since 1989 so expect a lot of jokes about how much better his hotel room is this time around.

Daily Show host Trevor Noah will make a highly-anticipated return for two performances on July 28 at Maison Symphonique at Place des Arts, in addition to a JFL ComedyPRO-hosted In Conversation with Trevor Noah going down July 29 at 12:00 pm (noon) at the Hyatt Regency.
