Born in Goderich, Ontario, Sigurdson was one of the many Eastern Canadians who headed west to find work in the early eighties. Her parents soon followed, convincing the six-year-old to stay in school. Being the new kid in class four times in three years helped show Sigurdson that laughter was the way to win hearts, and she's been doing it ever since. She was featured on CBC radio's Madly Off in All Directions, Zed TV and the nationally broadcast Prairie Crop, filmed live at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
