Teary drunk Jen Kirkman tells the story of Mary Dyer, an early proponent of the Quaker movement who was hanged by the Puritans in 1660 after she “freaked their dicks off” with her tolerant views. Winona Ryder channels her Crucible days as Dyer, while Michael Cera is pretty unthreatening as John Endecott, the Massachusetts governor who put her to death. Chris Parnell shows up in at the end, putting in a spirited performance as Captain Hook. Or maybe that’s supposed to be the king of England.
