In the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace, Hank Azaria plays Jerry Damiano, director of Deep Throat. Damiano was a deep-fried greaseball in real live, so obviously the part required a gnarly, over-lubricated toupee to match. But while his wig might be fun to joke about, Azaria explains that the film does not glamorize the 1970s porn industry. Instead, it crafts a disturbing portrait of the abuse and exploitation Lovelace faced while making Deep Throat, and the painful impact the experience had on her life.
