Since we’re on the topic of auditions today, it feels right to share with you the following anecdote from The Daily Show’s Hasan Minhaj, recounting his nerve-wracking correspondent try-out in front of Jon Stewart in New York.

The clip is from NYC-based comic Scott Rogowsky’s excellent DIY talk show, Running Late, and gives some insight into what Jon Stewart is like when he’s not on camera and the Daily Show audition process in general, just in case you’re in the running to replace Samantha Bee, Jason Jones or Jon Stewart himself. Watch and learn!

The Daily Show is all new this week so be sure to change the channel to Comedy at 11ep where Jon will be talking with author Andrew Cockburn. If you’re not the literary type, you may want to check it out because he wrote a book called Kill Chain: The Rise of the High-Tech Assassins, which sounds way cooler than any movie currently in theatres.
