If you’ve been on the Internet in the past couple of years there’s a good chance you’ve come across the smash hit web series Letterkenny Problems, which documents life in a small town in Ontario through the eyes of two of its residents. Thanks to Comedy and CraveTV, the small series about a small town is going to get a lot bigger because it was announced today that a full-on, six-part, half hour series based on the shorts is in the works!

“There’s talk of a TV show which is nice so long as there’s a firm handshake and no huggin’,” said Wayne, resident Letterkenny hick.

Letterkenny follows Wayne (Jared Keeso of Bravo’s 19-2), a good-ol’ country boy in Letterkenny, Ontario trying to protect his homegrown way of life on the farm, against a world that is constantly evolving around him. The residents of Letterkenny belong to one of three groups: Hicks, Skids, and Hockey Players. The three groups are constantly feuding with each other over seemingly trivial matters; often ending with someone getting their ass kicked.

Letterkenny is created by Listowel, Ontario native Keeso, and co-stars Nathan Dales (King & Maxwell) as Wayne’s quick-tongued sidekick, Daryl. Also on the team is Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky) who’ll be executive producing, directing, and co-writing. Production begins in Northern Ontario this summer.
