Following in the footsteps of multi-talents like Bo Jackson, Drew Carey and Emeril Lagasse is Toronto comedian Tim Gilbert, who today dropped a surprise new album of cover songs celebrating music’s past, present and future.
Tim Sings! The Hits! is a 45-track musical journey that showcases the performer’s powerful, yet vulnerable falsetto voice over the biggest hits of all time. With his career in comedy soaring, the move to music was a risky venture but it totally pays off as Tim’s passion is stamped on every track. Songs are recontextualized to give them new meaning, changing the way you’ll view the songs themselves, as well as the artists who originally yelled them.
The mix is incredibly smooth and powerful thanks to expert production from Marty Topps, who captured Tim as naturally as possible by recording each track in one take. The album is currently free for download, which may not last long if its initial hype continues to grow. Add it to your iPod today or stream through your speakers or headphones below!
