In an exclusive interview with the very non-weak Entertainment Weekly, Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams revealed that she’ll be leaving the show to work on a pilot for Comedy Central. Williams joined the show four years ago and made history as the show’s youngest ever correspondent, as well as the first ever black woman to get the gig. A lot us figured she’d be in the running to replace Jon Stewart until she released a series of Tweets back in 2015 explaining why she didn’t want to be considered.
Current host Trevor Noah feels a lot like we do, typing in an email to EW, “The sadness I have for Jessica leaving is only eclipsed by the joy I have for her starting her new show. If her podcast is anything to go by, it’s going to be an exciting show!”
It’d probably be illegal for us to copy and paste the entire interview, so you should probably read it over on But if you’re interested in the gist and the gist only, then know that Williams talks about her favourite memory from doing the show, her future projects, and the revelation that her final show on Thursday will include one final field piece.

You can watch that historic show at 11ep on Comedy, and if you’d like to watch last night’s program because this post reminded you that it exists, we’ve embedded it below for a limited time.
