New and old Corner Gas fan alike, listen up. This morning, Brent Leroy (a.k.a. Brent Butt, the creator and star of Corner Gas and Corner Gas Animated) announced that Corner Gas Animated Season 2 will premiere on The Comedy Network on July 1. That’s right–the second season of the animated version of what might be the most Canadian show of all time is premiering (with two episodes) on Canada Day. How appropriate.

Consisting of 11 half-hour episodes, Season 2 will continue to chronicle the hilarious and often strange goings-on of Brent, Hank (Fred Ewanuick), Emma (Corrina Koslo), Karen (Tara Spencer-Nairn), Davis (Lorne Cardinal), Wanda (Nancy Robertson), Oscar (Eric Peterson), Lacey (Gabrielle Miller), and the other residents of Dog River. Among this season’s plots–Brent, Hank, and Emma try to make viral videos and Lacey auctions off Brent during a Bachelor auction. Pure gold.

Plus, this season will be chock-full of exciting guest stars, including JANN’s Jann Arden, Chris Hadfield, Russell Peters, EPIC MEALTIME’s Harley Morenstein, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Yes, THE Prime Minister. Screen legend and cherished Canadian Michael J. Fox will also be making an (animated) appearance in the Season 2, premiere, “Dream Waiver,” as a version of himself who apparently likes to attack Brent in his dreams? Not sure how that’ll work, but you’d best believe we’ll be tuning in to find out.

Didn’t get a chance to watch the first season? Never fear. The Comedy Network will be airing the entirety of Season 1 starting at 8 a.m. ET on July 1. Tune in then and at 8 p.m. ET. if you want to spend your Canada Day doing the most patriotic thing you can possibly do–binge-watching Corner Gas Animated.
